Most people know my story, but for those of you who don't. I was diagnosed with a meningioma on 13th October 2024. 2 weeks after being rushed into hospital because my brain tumour had cause me to have a huge tonic clonic seizure. I was 38 weeks pregnant.

I had spent 3 months of my maternity leave that I'd been dreaming of for such a long time away from my newborn in and out of hospitals.

Noone should have to go through what I have had to go through. However there are so many stories similar to mine...and I'm classed as one of the lucky ones. My brain tumour was benign. Even though I have been left with mental and physical impacts. I've been diagnosed with epilepsy from the compression my 5cm tumour caused on my brain. I am grateful every day that my little, beautiful boy is safe and healthy.

The 27th September 2024 was the last normal day for Lisa. I wasn't a Mama yet. I wasn't the lady with the brain tumour. I was just me. That version of me is no longer... so I find this event fitting being a year later.

My aim is not only to raise money for a cause so close to my heart... but its to spread awareness ♡

One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.

Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Help fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
